CASA of Jefferson County has developed a new In-Service Training Program for our wonderful volunteers. CASA volunteers are required to have at least 12 hours of training each year and we know sitting in a training all day can be long and difficult so we've created a monthly, hour-long program. Our goal is to have interesting, fun and informative speakers for an hour each month to help you reach your training goals.
Our first speaker is Dan Williams, Assistant Director of Jefferson County DHR, Foster Care and Adult Services. Mr. Williams will talk about how DHR and CASA together can affect change for our children and he will also answer any and all of your questions about DHR. This is the time to ask anything and everything you want to know about how DHR works, what's required of them or any of the other things we always wonder about.
The Brown Bag Program will be on the first Wednesday of each month from 12 pm to 1 pm beginning August 3 at the Family Court in Birmingham. We will meet in the training room on the 2nd floor. Please bring your lunch and join us. We are very excited about our first program.
If you have any questions about the Brown Bag In-Service or if you have any suggestions for future topics we really want to hear from you. Please e-mail Gerri Mazer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
